Dustin can play either safety position for the Golden Eagles, and looked solid in Spring drills...smart player who knows the game well...solid tackler who enjoys contact...among the most improved players on the roster in two years...really increased his speed and his strength...will contribute on all special teams in addition to his role in the secondary...gained experience as a redshirt freshman in 2007 and played a larger role in 2008...good coverage instincts...will provide depth at both safety spots...a versatile athlete, he could also contribute in a couple of other key roles as a long snapper or a holder.

AT TECH - (In 2008): Dustin developed into a veteran in Tech's secondary as a sophomore...he played in all 12 games, and was the starter in seven of the final 10 games...posted 27 total tackles...had career-high six stops at Southeast Missouri in contest nationally televised on ESPNU...made six tackles against Central Methodist.

(In 2007): Played in all 11 games as a redshirt freshman, seeing time on special teams and in the secondary at strong safety...had two solo stops and six assists for eight total tackles...career-high four tackles in Tech's win over Concordia.

(In 2006): Dustin spent his rookie season on the Golden Eagle roster as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered four years in football for coach Satterfield, four in baseball for coach Cothron, and three years on the basketball court for coach Potts at Trousdale County High School...was named all-region in all three sports his senior year...Mr. Football Finalist and Blue Cross Bowl MVP...selected all-state, region MVP, regional DB of the Year, and all-Midstate...appeared in the state tournaments of all three sports at least once...was three-time all-district and two-time all-region in baseball...won the TSSAA state championship his senior year in football...as a quarterback, he passed for 2,200 yards and rushed for 980 his senior year, and finished with 5,400 career passing yards...on defense, he had 21 interceptions...had 53 consecutive starts.
