2017 (Sophomore): Roberts appeared in a team-high 22 games while taking over as the closer of the Golden Eagle staff… posted a 3.97 ERA while setting the program’s single-season saves record with 13… ranked 17th nationally in total saves and led the OVC… held batters to just a .235 average throughout the season while completing 47.2 innings on the mound… struck out a whopping 77 batters, with just 13 walks, setting a program record for most strikeouts by a pitcher without at least five starts… yielded only 21 earned runs and 23 total runs, as well as just 43 hits… set a program-record with nine consecutive strikeouts against Murray State (Apr. 14), fanning 10 of the 11 batters he faced in 3.1 innings to earn his 10th save of the season… claimed his first victory of the year after tossing a season-high 3.2 innings in relief in the first game of a doubleheader at UT Martin (Mar. 10)… recorded multiple walks just once all season… held opponents scoreless in 13 of his 22 appearances… pitched three or more innings six times on the year… struck out at least five batters in seven games, including four straight appearances from a contest at Southeast Missouri (Apr. 28) to a showing at Eastern Kentucky (Apr. 13)… struck out the side in the ninth inning at Eastern Kentucky (Apr. 13) to clinch Tech the OVC regular season title… finished with zero walks issued 10 times.
