IN HIGH SCHOOL: Matt was the standout player in the offensive line for coach Roc Batten at Battle Ground Academy for three seasons, but missed most of his senior season due to injury. He led the  returning to appear in the final game of the year. He helped lead the Wildcats to the Class II-AA state playoffs as a junior.
