2018 (R-Freshman): Sylvester made 21 appearances out of the bullpen in his first season in the purple and gold, finishing 3-1… logged the second-most appearances on the team, racking up four saves and a 5.04 ERA over 25.0 innings of work… allowed just 20 hits, 14 earned runs and 13 walks while fanning 25 and holding hitters to a miniscule .213 average… earned in the win in his collegiate debut, tossing 2.0 innings without allowing a baserunner against Illinois State (Feb. 24)… struck out a season-high four batters in 1.1 innings against Lipscomb (Feb. 27)… completed a season-best 3.1 innings with three strikeouts to earn a victory at Eastern Illinois (Apr. 1)… earned his first career save with a scoreless inning in the second game of a doubleheader against Austin Peay (Mar. 23)… punched out three batters in 1.1 innings on the hill in Tech’s victory at Vanderbilt (May 8)… held opponents scoreless in 11 appearances… held opposing batters without a hit in 10 games… set the program’s freshman saves record with four.
