Welcome from the University President
Welcome to the TTU Sports.Com Website! We always appreciate your presence at our sporting events, and we deeply appreciate your interest in Tech! Intercollegiate sports play an important role in the life of our campus, and an important role in shaping the lives of our student-athletes.
You probably know that Tennessee Tech is known for excellent academic programs and for its technological focus. Tech Pride is shared campus-wide and beyond as USNews & World Report consistently ranks TTU one of the Best Universities in the South within its ranking category. USNews also ranks TTU among an elite list as one of the “Top Public Universities in the South.” The Princeton Review included TTU in its list of “Best Southeastern Colleges” again for 2009-2010. And TTU is once again listed among “America’s 100 Best College Buys.” Our newest national ranking comes from Payscale.com, which lists Tennessee Tech as one of the nation’s top public universities, and the top in Tennessee, when it comes to the potential salary our graduates can earn when they hit the job market.
Tennessee Tech is a university with a distinct personality and a strong tradition of excellence. We have a very talented student body, and I’m proud to say that our student athletes graduate at a rate higher than our student body. Last year, a former student athlete—and engineering graduate—piloted the Space Shuttle Atlantis on a mission to the International Space Station. All of our students represent the best in the state, the nation, and the world. We’re proud of them, and we thank you for supporting them and for supporting TTU.
