Tennessee Tech women's basketball head coach Kim Rosamond has announced the promotion of Connor Wilkerson to assistant coach after serving the 2025-26 season as the program's graduate assistant.

Wilkerson earned the promotion after his first season in Cookeville, where he played an integral role in helping the Golden Eagles record their eighth consecutive winning season—the program's longest such streak since the 2001-02 season.

"Connor has earned this opportunity through his work ethic, professionalism and commitment to our players every single day," Rosamond said. "He has been a tremendous addition to our staff from the moment he arrived. He is incredibly organized, has a sharp basketball mind and approaches every responsibility with excellence. When we hire coaches, we hire people first, and Connor represents everything we value within our culture. I have no doubt he has a tremendous future in this profession."

During his first season with the Golden Eagles, Wilkerson was involved in every aspect of the program, including player development, opponent scouting, recruiting, practice planning, film breakdown, analytics and game preparation. His attention to detail, willingness to serve and ability to build meaningful relationships quickly made him an invaluable member of the coaching staff.

As an assistant coach, Wilkerson will continue working closely with player development, scouting and recruiting while taking on expanded responsibilities in game planning and the day-to-day operations of the program.

"I'm extremely grateful to Coach Rosamond and Tennessee Tech for the opportunity to continue serving this program," Wilkerson said. "My first season at Tech allowed me to grow tremendously as a coach, and I'm excited to build on that experience as we continue developing our student-athletes and competing for championships. The culture Coach Rosamond and our staff have built here is something special, and I'm honored to continue being a part of it as we begin this new chapter in the Southern Conference."

Before joining Tennessee Tech, Wilkerson worked in the athletics department at Middle Tennessee while completing his bachelor's degree in Sport Management. He graduated in August 2025.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Wilkerson proudly served five years in the United States Army as an Airborne Infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division. During his military service, he earned five Army Achievement Medals and the Army Commendation Medal, experiences that shaped the discipline, leadership and servant mindset he brings to coaching.

Wilkerson's promotion completes a coaching staff that will usher the Golden Eagles into their first season in the Southern Conference after Tennessee Tech concluded a historic 76-year run in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Golden Eagles leave the OVC as the conference's all-time winningest women's basketball program and the only institution to eclipse 500 conference victories. That success has continued in recent years, with Tennessee Tech advancing to three OVC Tournament championship games over the last five seasons and earning NCAA Tournament berths twice in the past four years.
