Tennessee Tech women's basketball head coach Kim Rosamond announced the addition of Sydney Gouard to the coaching staff.

Gouard arrives in Cookeville after serving as an assistant coach and director of basketball operations at Bellarmine University in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Before Bellarmine, Gouard built her coaching resume through a variety of roles — from head coach at Sacred Heart Middle School in Michigan to coaching on the AAU circuit with Indianapolis-based Ty Harris Elite. She also served as a varsity assistant and freshman head coach at Decatur Central High School in Indianapolis.

"Sydney is the kind of person and leader we look for in our program," said Rosamond. "She's played the game at a high level and has already gained valuable experience on the sideline, learning from Coach Chance Dugan this past season at Bellarmine. Syd is dependable, driven, and detail-oriented — and she shows up every day with a team-first mindset."

Gouard earned her degree from Oakland University in Spring 2022 after playing three seasons with the Golden Grizzlies. She then transferred as a graduate student to Stetson, playing with the Hatters before earning her master's in business administration in Summer 2023.

For Rosamond, adding Gouard is about more than just experience — it's about the right fit for the culture, vision, and championship mentality that defines Tennessee Tech.

"Sydney has a great feel for people and the game, and she's someone I trust to handle the demands and responsibilities that come with this role."

The Danville, Illinois, native is no stranger to the Ohio Valley Conference as she has a familial connection to the league. "Basketball runs in her blood," Rosamond said. "Her uncle, Stan Gouard, is the head men's coach at OVC member Southern Indiana – and that family connection has clearly influenced the way she leads and serves in a positive way."
