AT TECH (IN 2014-15): Doubled up her events in her second season, competing in the shot put and weight throw indoors, and the shot, javelin and discus outdoors...raised her PR indoors to 36' 2" in the shot put and had a career-long weight throw of 34' 7.75"...during the outdoor season, she posted a PR in the javelin of 93-feet...her best in the discus came at Tennessee with a heave of 117' 1".
(IN 2013-14): During the indoor season, Makayla competed in the shot put posting a personal best of 30’ 10” at the TSU indoor meet. During the outdoor season, she posted a personal record of 31’ 2” in the shot put, 112’ 4” in the discus, and 73’ 6" in the javelin.
HIGH SCHOOL: Makayla was a three-sport athlete at Stone Memorial High School, competing in basketball, golf and track & field... was a TSSAA track & field state championship participant under coach Matt Bales during her time at Stone Memorial, winning sectionals her junior year, and winning the state championships in her senior season...her best throw in the discus was 112 feet, and 34 feet in the shot put.
