A distance runner from Kenya, Purity ran two years at New Mexico Junior College where she posted some outstanding times in both track & field distances and on the cross country course...could emerge as a team leader in the distances.
Coach Angel on Murray: Purity brings loads of experience and depth to our cross country and track & field programs. She has great range and is an impact player who will help us as we strive for excellence in the OVC.
AT TECH (IN 2015-16): Purity developed during the cross country season into the team's top performer, after running third on the squad in the first four meets of the season...ran a personal-best 5K time of 18:27.95 at the Alabama Crimson Classic to place 64th overall...her time ranks 13th all-time in Tech history...led Tech the following meet at the OVC Championships with another outstanding race, posting a time of 18:32.4 fo a 23rd place finish...that time ranks 14th all-time among Golden Eagle women runners...also topped the chart for the Golden Eagles at the NCAA Regional, held at Alabama, with a 6K time of 22:53.93.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Purity was an eight-time junior college All-American in cross country and track & field at New Mexico Junior College...also received All-Region V honors and all-conference recognition for her efforts in cross country...career-best at 3,000m is 10:36.85, with a 3,000m steeplechase best of 11:33.77...has also posted personal best times of 18:02.10 at 5K and 38:58.07 at 10K.
