Bio

Madison has had three successful seasons on the Golden Eagle roster and looks to continue to make an impact in her senior campaign...hails from William Blount High School...a solid discus and javelin athlete in pre-college competition... was a varsity cheerleader.

AT TECH (In 2011-12): Madison competed in the shot put during the indoor track season, and the shot put and discus during the outdoor season... she threw her best shot put throw of her career at the Austin Peay Invitational during the outdoor season, also earning her the fourth-best shot put throw in Tech history with a distance of 39-5.0... made Tech history with the fourth-longest discus throw at the Vanderbilt Invitational during the outdoor season with a distance of 136-2... Madison threw the third best shot put throw for the team at the East Tennessee State Invitational throwing for a distance of 35-9.25.

(In 2010-11): Madison competed in the shot put and weight throw during the indoor track season and the shot put, discus and hammer throw during the outdoor season...her toss of 116-3 in the hammer throw at Tennessee State was the third best distance in Tech history and was more than two feet longer than her previous best...also took possession of the fourth best shot put distance in Tech history with a throw of 39-3.25 at Austin Peay, a distance nearly two feet better than her previous best...tossed a season-best 130-6 in the discus at Vanderbilt...earned points in the OVC Outdoor Championships for her discus throw of 129-9.75.

(In 2009-10): Madison competed in the shot put and weight throw during the indoor season and the discus, hammer and javelin for the Golden Eagles in the outdoor season during her freshman campaign...ranks third all-time in Tech history in the hammer throw at 104-1...ranks fourth all-time in school history in the discus at 133-3... both the hammer and discus distances mentioned were personal bests.

HIGH SCHOOL: Madison competed in the shot put, discus and javelin at William Blount High School...was the Blount County Shot & Discus Champion in 2006, 2007 and 2008...State Medalist in Discus in 2006 & 2007... received sixth place in 2008...won WBHS Most Valuable Field honors in 2008...competed in the 2008 AAU semi-regional and placed fourth to go on to the AAU Jr. Olympics...also a four-year varsity cheerleader and was captain in the 2008-09 year.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Bruce and Susan Borden...full name is Madison Augusta Borden...born on April 16, 1991...major is human ecology.
