2017 (Junior): Cruse played in all 46 games, starting 40 ... hit .238 on the season, collecting 29 hits in 122 at-bats ... drove in 15 RBI and scored 10 times ... hit seven doubles and three home runs.

2016 (Sophomore): Bayli appeared in 53 games, making 52 starts primarily at first base...was Tech's third leading hitter with a .258 (40-155) batting average...tallied 12 doubles, two homeruns, and 19 RBI on the year...posted a .374 slugging percentage and a .285 on-base percentage...went 1-1 in the stolen base department...ended the year with a .968 fielding percentage committing just seven errors with 204 putouts and nine assists...went on two, six-game hitting streaks from Feb. 13-21 and Apr. 17-24, including three doubles versus Alabama A&M, which tied a Tech record for doubles in a game originally set in 1994 by Stacy Hughes and then tied by Amy Ayers in 1999...posted RBI in three consecutive games from Apr. 23-24, including three RBI (season-high) versus Murray State off of an RBI single and two-RBI double both to center field...tallied a season-high three hits versus Alabama A&M on Feb. 14 and Memphis on Mar. 5...collected first homerun of the year in season opener versus Georgia Southern on Feb. 12...went 2-3 versus Eastern Kentucky on May 7.

OXFORD, Ala. – As the Tennessee Tech softball team concludes its 2018 campaign, two Golden Eagles are closing off the season with some hardware as the team earned two selections on the postseason All-Ohio Valley Conference teams. Senior catcher Bayli Cruse was named to the All-OVC second team while freshman designated hitter Taylor Thomas was named to the All-Newcomer squad on Tuesday as the league announced its awards at the awards banquet preceding the start of the 2018 OVC Softball Tournament.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s a make-or-break weekend for the Tennessee Tech softball team as the Golden Eagles look to secure a spot in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament with six games remaining in the regular season. Tech (16-27, 7-9 OVC) will have its hands full though as it entertains Eastern Kentucky (29-14, 11-1 OVC) on Saturday, then Morehead State (23-15, 4-8 OVC) on Sunday for the final two regular-season home doubleheaders of the season. CHARLESTON, Ill. – Four home runs helped propel the Tennessee Tech softball team to a split Saturday afternoon as the Golden Eagles poured on seven runs for a 7-1 victory in the nightcap over Eastern Illinois. The Panthers used a walk-off double in game one to take a 5-4 victory. With the split against EIU, Tech’s record improves to 15-26, 6-8 in the Ohio Valley Conference as the Golden Eagles try to work its way toward a berth in the postseason tournament in May.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s a big weekend for the Tennessee Tech softball team as the Golden Eagles square off with two of the top teams in the Ohio Valley Conference standings as Tech travels to Eastern Illinois on Saturday, then takes on SIUE on Sunday. Tech (14-25, 5-7 in OVC play) currently stands in eighth, which would take the last spot in the conference tournament if the season ended today. Meanwhile, the Panthers (28-11, 7-3 OVC) and the Cougars (17-14, 7-3 OVC) are currently in a tie for third in the league standings, trailing Jacksonville State (24-16, 11-1 OVC) and Eastern Kentucky (25-14, 7-1 OVC).

The Golden Eagles took a crushing 21-0, five-inning loss to the Racers at the Trojan Classic in Troy, Ala. And with the Racers coming to Cookeville searching for their first Ohio Valley Conference win of the season and Tech winning three of its last four, the twinbill appeared to be the definition of a trap game. COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It could be a chilly, wet weekend in Cookeville, but the Tennessee Tech softball team is shifting its schedule around to get games in this weekend as it hosts Tennessee State on Friday and Belmont on Sunday. The series against the Tigers was originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, but now holds a 12:30 p.m. start on Friday. The series against the Bruins remains at its originally scheduled 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. start times on Sunday. The games are currently planned for streaming video broadcast on the OVC Digital Network, weather permitting, with Dylan Vazzano providing the call.

UPDATE (8:00 a.m. 3/16/18) -- The scheduled game against Southeast Missouri has been postponed to Sunday at 2:45 p.m. Tech will only face host Memphis at 11 a.m. on Friday. CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Bayli Cruse’s bat sent several balls into the outfield like cruise missiles on Friday as the Tennessee Tech softball team picked up its second straight win, toppling the Hilltoppers 7-6 in the second day of the Chattanooga Challenge. Cruse went 3-for-4 in Tech’s lone game of the day, driving in five runs with a three-run home run and a two-run single. Cruse also scored twice as the Golden Eagles improved to 2-4 on the young season.

Golden Eagles see positives despite Opening Day losses

AUBURN, Ala. – The first day of the Plainsman Invitational may not have gone exactly the way the Tennessee Tech softball team had planned, but despite two losses, the Golden Eagles did have positives during their first day of action. Tech (0-2) saw Wichita State hold off a late rally for a 6-4 victory in the first game, then No. 13-ranked Auburn blanked the Golden Eagles 3-0 in the second game.
