SOPHOMORE (2020-21): Grubert enjoyed another banner season with a spot on the All-OVC first team for the first time in his career, his second All-OVC accolade…playing in just the spring after the fall was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Grubert finished second on the team with nine singles wins, going 9-5 overall…finished tied for third in doubles nods behind a 6-4 mark, all out of the No. 3 spot in the lineup…was one of four Golden Eagles to go a perfect 5-0 during singles action in OVC play…ended the spring on a six-match solo winning streak and concluded the campaign 8-2 in his last 10 singles affairs…went 3-0 out of the No. 2 singles position, 3-1 out of the No. 3 spot and 3-4 out of the No. 4 slot.
SOPHOMORE (2019-20): Grubert followed up a strong freshman season with an impressive sophomore year that was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic…paced the Golden Eagles during the spring with seven singles wins and led the club in singles winning percentage behind a 7-2 solo mark for a .778 mark…also led the team in fall wins with a 9-4 record to pace the purple and gold in overall singles wins on the year with a 16-6 record…went 4-4 for the entire year during doubles action with a 4-3 fall mark…was on a four-match singles winning streak at the time the campaign was called…went 1-0 out of the No. 3 singles spot and 6-2 out of the No. 4 slot…took home the Chad Harris Singles Draw championship as part of the Commodore Scramble in Nashville Sept. 13-15 with four consecutive wins…advanced to the consolation quarterfinals of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional in Nashville Oct. 24-28…won two singles clashes to advance to the Wake Forest Invitational semifinals Nov. 8-10 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
FRESHMAN (2018-19): Grubert put together a stellar freshman campaign with a spot on the All-OVC second team…went 7-6 during singles play in the spring, highlighted by a 3-1 OVC record…posted a 4-1 singles record out of the No. 3 spot and a 2-0 mark out of the No. 4 slot…ended the spring on a four-match singles winning streak, including a straight-set win in the OVC Tournament championship match against Jacksonville State…went 5-7 in the fall during singles play for a 12-13 overall record throughout the year…claimed consecutive singles wins in the Chattanooga Collegiate Clay Court Championships in Tech’s second event of the fall (Sept. 14-16), including a nod over Vanderbilt’s Vikram Chari in the consoloation semifinals…posted a 6-9 overall doubles mark, going 2-5 in the spring and 4-4 in the fall.
