Alvaro has been playing tennis since he was four years old...joined the Tech program in January 2013...gained some collegiate experience as a freshman and improved greatly as a sophomore...turned it on as a junior en route to a 6-2 OVC record.
AT TECH (In 2014-15): Alvaro went 14-20 overall in singles play…most of his action occurred in the middle of the Tech lineup…went 6-2 in the OVC and 7-7 in tournament play…won in his only appearance in the No. 1 spot in the lineup…ended the regular season on a six-match win streak…went 9-17 in doubles play…won in his only appearance in the No. 1 spot in the lineup during doubles action.
AT TECH (In 2013-14): During the fall season, Alvaro recorded the team's only winning record at 5-3. Alvaro excelled in the spring, posting an 8-10 record, a definite improvement over the previous season...finished the season with three consecutive wins...was among the team's top three OVC records at 6-3...was 4-2 in the No. 5 spot.
(In 2012-13): Alvaro joined the team mid-season, adding his name to the roster in January...played in 15 dual matches, mostly at the No. 5 position in singles...also saw action at Nos. 3, 4, and 6...posted a 3-12 overall record in singles, with all three of his wins coming against OVC foes where he went 3-3...was 4-10 overall in doubles contests, including a strong 4-1 record in OVC play...paired up with four different playing partners during the year, all in the No. 3 doubles spot.
PERSONAL: Alvaro is the son of Alfonso and MaEugenia Cintas...has one brother (Alfonso, 29) and one sister (Miriam, 25)...birthday is April 21, 1994...majoring in computer engineering.
