Bio

Neil has gained playing experience on the field during the past two years and heads into the 2013 campaign ready to make a greater impact at the inside receiver spot...has taken advantage of his opportunities with great hands and deceptively good routes...caught his first career touchdown at Austin Peay last season and has potential to add more over the next two years...long, tall and smooth...great size for a receiver...has developed into a highy effective blocker...has appeared in four consecutive semester on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

AT TECH (In 2012): As a sophomore, Neil made appearances in nine of Tech's 11 games...pulled in five receptions for 62 yards, including his first career touchdown on a 20-yard toss from Darian Stone at Austin Peay in the final game of the season...had three cathces for 41 yards in that game, both career-high numbers.

(In 2011): Saw action in four games as a true freshman...tallied one reception against Southeast Missouri, a 15-yard completion from Tre Lamb.

BEFORE TECH: Neil was a three-sport athlete, an Honor student and a two-year starter on the football team at Vestavia Hills High School...as a senior, he was named to the Birmingham News All-South/Hoover Football Team when he tied for the team lead with 12 touchdown catches for 1,088 receiving yards, averaging 21 yards per catch...was a 2010 Regions Athlete of the Year nominee and was a Thompson Reynolds Scholar-Athlete.
