Bio
2021 (Freshman*): Jones competed in 26 of the team’s 47 games, making 11 starts as the team’s designated hitter… rounded out the year with a .170 batting average, .328 on-base percentage, and .298 slugging percentage… compiled eight hits, five runs, three doubles, a home run, six RBI, and eight walks… delivered a clutch, pinch-hit, walk-off home run in the 10th inning in the second game of a doubleheader with Eastern Illinois (Mar. 20)… tallied season-highs of two hits and three RBI against North Alabama (Mar. 2)… drew a pair of walks in three straight games from Mar. 21 to Mar. 26… turned in a five-game hit streak from Mar. 14 to Mar. 21.
2020 (Freshman): Jones played in seven of Tech’s 15 games, including two starts at catcher, before the remainder of the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic… finished the year with a .250 batting average, .250 on-base percentage, and a .750 slugging percentage… smashed two home runs and totaled six RBI with two runs scored… made his collegiate debut and first career start in the second game of a doubleheader against Evansville (Feb. 15), tallying a season-high two hits and three RBI, as well as his first collegiate home run… came up clutch with a pinch-hit, game-tying, three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning against Evansville (Feb. 16), setting up teammate Jason Hinchman for the walk-off bomb in the next at-bat.
High School: Jones was a four-year letterwinner at catcher for head coach Justin Alberson at Greenbrier High School in Greenbrier... hit .346 with three doubles, two home runs, and 20 RBI as a freshman and followed it up with a monster sophomore campaign, hitting .510 with 16 doubles, five home runs, and 48 RBI... in his junior season, hit .430 with eight doubles, seven home runs, and 47 RBI... posted a monster sophomore campaign, batting .510 with 16 doubles, five home runs, and 48 RBI... as a freshman, drove in 20 runs with a .346 batting average... led GHS to a District 9AA championships and Region 5AA title as a sophomore... named All-District and All-Region as both a sophomore and junior... earned District MVP honors and a place on both the Class AA All-State Team and the TBCA Team Tennessee.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A quick start with the bats and a great performance on the mound proved more than enough for the Tennessee Tech baseball team to pick up the win in its home-opener Friday evening, as the Golden Eagles cruised to a 13-4 victory over Eastern Michigan at Quillen Field and Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex.
MOBILE, Ala. – An early rally and patience at the plate propelled the Tennessee Tech baseball team to its second win in as many days to start the 2022 campaign, as the Golden Eagles (2-0) defeated Radford (0-2) at the South Alabama Invitational Saturday afternoon, 10-5.
