Bio
Jim Ragland came to Tech to play quarterback in 1961, after playing his freshman year at the University of Mississippi. He started three seasons for the Golden Eagles and earned All-OVC honors his senior year in 1963. After several collegiate coaching positions, Ragland returned to his alma mater to head up the Athletic Foundation in 1979 and returned to coaching as an assistant in 1984. He was named head football coach in 1986.
