Bio
Homer Schmittou was an All-OVC selection in football in 1959 and 1961 and received All-America Honorable Mention recognition for his 1961 performance. He served that season as captain of the 7-3 Golden Eagle gridiron squad and led the squad in receptions from quarterback Jim Ragland. He also captained the track team for two seasons while starring in the 220- and 440-yard events. He was named Tech's Outstanding Athlete in 1962.
