Bio
Male Newcomer of the Year was presented to Shaq Calhoun, a graduate transfer from South Alabama. After beginning the year as the team's sixth man and contributing effectively, the guard turned it up a notch after an injury forced him into the starting lineup for the majority of the conference season. He averaged 10.8 points per game and shot 38.3 percent from 3-point range to help Tech to 19 wins on the year.
