Bio
Thomas helped lead the Golden Eagle baseball team to a 35-win season and was named to the 2008 All-OVC Second-Team, ranking among conference leaders in runs scored, doubles and stolen bases. He also ranked among team leaders in slugging percentage, on-base percentage, hits and walks. He was named an OVC Player of the Week (March 3), was one of six league athletes who earned the OVC Scholar-Athlete award in 2007, and has led by example in the classroom by maintaining a 4.0 GPA over his four-year collegiate career, leading to his selection as First-Team Academic All-America. Nelson volunteered in Golden Eagle athletic community events such as the 2006 and 2007 high school fall baseball camps, Fall FunFest, Trunk or Treat and reading at Capshaw Elementary School. He is a biology major.
