Bio
2021-22 (Freshman): Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: A highly decorated player in Tech's backyard, Hurst helped lead Upperman High School to a Class AA state championship and a 37-0 record in the 2017-18 campaign, claiming three regular-season District 8-AA titles, two district tournament crowns and a Region 4-AA championship. She ended her Baxter career with averages of 15.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.1 spg, as well as shooting percentages of 51.4 from the floor, 31.6 from long-range and 68.6 at the free-throw line. As a senior, Hurst averaged 18.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.1 blocks and 2.2 steals per game as she shot 53.8 percent from the field, 31.8 beyond the arc and 76.3 at the stripe as she earned TSSAA Class AA Miss Basketball honors.
In Upperman history, Hurst became the fifth 2,000-point scorer in the program's record book on Feb. 24, 2021, joining Sheri Lewis, Emily Christian, Lashay Davis and Akira Levy in that elite company -- the first four also suiting up in the Purple and Gold of Tennessee Tech in their collegiate careers.
A multi-sport athlete -- playing basketball for Tech Sports Hall of Famer Dana McWilliams and softball for Dustin Williams, a former Golden Eagle football player -- Hurst came away with a treasure trove of awards and honors over the course of her four-year prep career. In her final season alone, she was the District 8-AA regular-season and tournament MVP, as well as recognized on the all-district defensive team and region all-tournament team. She was also named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's All-State team and the Nashville Tennessean's All-Midstate team. She was also a nominee for the prestigious McDonald's All-American program. In softball, she was named the District 8-AA regular-season and tournament MVP, while also earning all-state honors from the Tennessee Softball Coaches Association.
In her career, she earned four District 8-AA team nods -- one second and three first-team -- as well as three TSWA All-State selections.

News mentions
CHARLESTON, Ill. – For the most part, the field for the Ohio Valley Conference tournament in Evansville next week is set. Little Rock is the No. 1 seed, Eastern Illinois No. 2 and Tennessee Tech No. 3, while Southeast Missouri has locked up the No. 5 spot. From there, it’s Morehead State, SIUE, Tennessee State and UT Martin trying to solidify their official spot with one of the first-round byes still in play. One might think that Saturday’s contest between Tennessee Tech and Eastern Illinois would have no stakes, but far from it. Even though the Golden Eagles and the Panthers know exactly when their tournament run starts next week in Evansville, there’s still a little matter of pride on the line on Saturday when the two teams square off for the regular-season finale.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech fans might be forgiven for a slight feeling of déjà vu on Thursday night at the Hooper Eblen Center as the Golden Eagles put together another strong outing against Lindenwood, almost mirroring its previous contest against the Lions back in December. Tech (16-9, 10-5 Ohio Valley Conference) cruised to a 71-39 victory over the Lions, using a 10-0 run in the second quarter to help close the door early. The Golden Eagles also accomplished something they haven’t done in some time – securing double-digit wins in the OVC for the fifth straight season, the first time the team has done that stretch since the 2001-02 campaign.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Two weeks remain in the regular season and the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will close out the home portion of the campaign on Thursday against Lindenwood and Saturday against UT Martin. Tipoff on Thursday is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Roger Ealey and Frank Harrell will have the broadcast on 106.1 The Eagle, while Dylan Vazzano and Michael Cooper will call the action on ESPN+ (subscription required).
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee State scored 56 points in the second half as the Lady Tigers pulled away late to top Tennessee Tech 81-72 at the Gentry Center. The Golden Eagles fall to 15-9 overall, 9-5 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Thursday’s loss at Morehead State bothered the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team. When Saturday came around and Southeast Missouri coming into town, the Golden Eagles were determined to do better. Junior Anna Walker came out in force, nearly collecting a double-double in the first quarter alone, then solid performances from Maaliya Owens, Reghan Grimes, Jada Guinn and the rest of the Tech lineup helped stave off any late comeback bids by the Redhawks on Saturday as the Golden Eagles claimed a 71-65 victory in the Eblen Center in the team’s annual Play4Kay game.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team nears the midway point of the Ohio Valley Conference schedule, the Golden Eagles will start to see some familiar faces as the OVC race begins to heat up with a month remaining in the regular season. Tech (12-6, 6-2 OVC) will start its second go-round in the OVC on Thursday as SIUE comes into the Hooper Eblen Center. Please note that Thursday’s game is a 3 p.m. start time after the men’s game was selected as a wild-card pick by ESPN to be broadcast nationwide on ESPNews. Roger Ealey and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Dylan Vazzano and Michael Cooper will handle the broadcast on ESPN+ (subscription required).
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – It’ll be a battle for second place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings on Thursday night as the Tennessee Tech women will enter uncharted territory for them as the Golden Eagles take on OVC newcomer Little Rock for the first time. Tipoff from the Stephens Center is set for 5 p.m. Dylan Vazzano will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Kyle Deckelbaum and Dorian Craft will handle broadcast duties on ESPN+ (subscription required). Certainly, it’s still early in the race as the conference sprint has only reached a third of the way through with plenty more to still be played, but the Golden Eagles (11-5, 5-1 OVC) find themselves knotted in the standings with the Trojans (8-9, 5-1 OVC) after Little Rock dropped a low-scoring 44-33 affair at Eastern Illinois on Saturday.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Saturday will be a day of recognition for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team as it celebrates Legends Weekend when Tennessee State comes to the Hooper Eblen Center for an Ohio Valley Conference showdown. Tipoff from the Hoop is scheduled for 1 p.m. Roger Ealey and Frank Harrell will have the radio call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Dylan Vazzano and Michael Cooper will broadcast the game on ESPN+ (subscription required). The game will also be available locally on radio on campus station 88.5 WTTU and on television on WCTE. In addition to a pre-game ceremony recognizing head coach Kim Rosamond for her 100th career victory on December 31 at Lindenwood, the program will also recognize four championship anniversaries including the 45th anniversary of the 1977-78 team that won the inaugural OVC championship, the 30th anniversary of the OVC regular-season and tournament champion 1992-93 team, the 25th anniversary of the 1997-98 OVC regular-season champions and the 10th anniversary of the 2012-13 OVC regular-season champions.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As Morehead State comes into the Hooper Eblen Center on Thursday night, it’s a much-improved squad from a season ago. The visiting Eagles bring a 6-9 record, 2-2 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Last season, Morehead State finished 1-26 and 0-17 in the OVC in Cayla Petree’s first year at the helm. After a nearly-complete revamp of the lineup, including nine international players and five Division I transfers, this year’s squad has already shown vast improvement and could make things very interesting for the Golden Eagles (9-5, 3-1 OVC) on Thursday night. Tip-off for Thursday’s game is set for 5:30 p.m. Roger Ealey and Frank Harrell will have the game on 106.1 The Eagle, while Dylan Vazzano and Michael Cooper will broadcast the game on ESPN+ (subscription required). The game will also be televised locally on WCTE and heard on student radio station 88.5 FM.
MARTIN, Tenn. – An 11-0 run in the second quarter provided a big lift for the Tennessee Tech women on Saturday afternoon and while the host UT Martin squad made things interesting in the fourth quarter, the Golden Eagles held on to take a 61-49 victory over the Skyhawks at the Elam Center. Tech (9-5, 3-1 Ohio Valley Conference) earned its third-straight road victory and will spend the next week at home as the Golden Eagles host Morehead State on Thursday and Tennessee State on Saturday. The Golden Eagles had four players in double-figure scoring, led by true freshman Reghan Grimes with 12 points – as well as a team-high six rebounds. Maaliya Owens scored 11, while Jordan Brock and Reagan Hurst each had 10 points.
MARTIN, Tenn. – After a tough game on Thursday night, the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will put that game in the rearview and get set for Saturday's opponent – long-time OVC rival UT Martin. Tip-off from the Elam Center on Saturday is set for 1 p.m. Roger Ealey will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Chris Brinkley will handle the broadcast on ESPN+ (subscription required). Thursday's game couldn't have been any closer against Eastern Illinois as the OVC front-runner took the 67-62 victory. The Panthers jumped out to an early lead only for the Golden Eagles to close the gap at the half and take a lead in the third quarter. EIU retook the lead late and was able to stay on top as the final seconds ticked away.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It was fitting that Reagan Hurst had a great night in front of the home crowd as she scored a season-best 19 points in her redshirt freshman campaign. The product from nearby Upperman High shot 8-for-12 from the field along the way as the reigning OVC Freshman of the Week also had two rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block – and was also honored as the Student-Athlete of the Game during the men’s half of the twinbill. But Eastern Illinois gave a fight as the Ohio Valley Conference overall record leaders escaped the Hooper Eblen Center with a 67-62 victory on Thursday night.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The second week of the Ohio Valley Conference slate is an intriguing one for the Tennessee Tech women’s team as the Golden Eagles will entertain conference leader Eastern Illinois on Thursday night, then hit the road for a showdown at UT Martin on Saturday. Thursday’s game at the Hooper Eblen Center is Upper Cumberland Night as residents of Putnam County and the rest of the Upper Cumberland region will be able to receive half-off admission to the Eastern Illinois doubleheader.
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – As Tennessee Tech opened the Ohio Valley Conference women’s basketball slate 2-0 this past weekend, and earning the program’s 1,000th victory and the 100th for head coach Kim Rosamond, redshirt freshman Reagan Hurst collected a pretty good week herself. Averaging 11.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in Tech’s conference-opening victories over SIUE and Lindenwood, Hurst was an overwhelming favorite for this week’s OVC Freshman of the Week honor, as selected by the league’s sports information contacts.
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Milestone Weekend continued for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team on Saturday. Following the program’s 1,000th victory on Thursday, Golden Eagle head coach Kim Rosamond reached her own personal milestone as the Tech players cruised over Ohio Valley Conference newcomer Lindenwood 72-35. The victory, which improved the Golden Eagles to 8-4 on the season, 2-0 in the fresh OVC slate, gave Rosamond her 100th victory, making her the third Tech women’s basketball coach to reach 100 wins.
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – As Tennessee Tech heads to Lindenwood on Saturday, it’s a whole new experience. The Lions, one of three new members of the Ohio Valley Conference this season, have never played the Golden Eagles before. With no history to study between the two teams in the past, the pair will lock horns to start a new chapter in Tech’s history. Tipoff on Saturday at Hyland Arena is set for 1 p.m. Roger Ealey will have the broadcast on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will also be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – It was a milestone moment 52-and-a-half seasons in the making. As the final buzzer sounded at SIUE’s First Community Arena on Thursday, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team not only took its first win of the Ohio Valley Conference campaign with an 85-70 victory over the host Cougars, it gave the Golden Eagles the 1,000th win in program history. Tech (7-4) became the 21st team in NCAA Division I to reach the millennium mark, joining some pretty elite company.
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The non-conference slate is in the books. Now it’s time for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team to focus on the main task – winning the Ohio Valley Conference. The league slate starts in Edwardsville on Thursday night as the 6-4 Golden Eagles take on 1-10 SIUE. The Golden Eagles were picked to win the OVC during the preseason Media Day back in October.
NEW ORLEANS – It could be a milestone day for Tennessee Tech women’s basketball at the Tulane Holiday Tournament on Tuesday as the Golden Eagles will play for its 1,000th victory in the program’s history. The tournament starts for Tech with a 2:30 contest against VCU at Tulane’s Devlin Fieldhouse. Dylan Vazzano will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle.
MONROE, La. – The Tennessee Tech women started off the Louisiana road trip in style, opening up the three-game swing with a big victory over ULM, topping the Warhawks 83-59 on Saturday night at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The win gives Tech its 999th program victory and gives head coach Kim Rosamond her 98th career victory. Only 20 Division I women’s basketball teams have won 1,000 games. The Golden Eagles earn their first road win of the season and improve to 6-3 on the season.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With the roar of over four thousand Upper Cumberland students accenting the scene at the Hooper Eblen Center, the Tennessee Tech women cruised to a 85-52 victory over Tennessee Wesleyan to wrap up the home portion of the non-conference schedule. The Golden Eagles (5-3) finish that section 4-0 in the Eblen Center before league play begins at the end of the month. Tech still has some road action left before the Christmas holiday as the Golden Eagles begin their Louisiana swing on Saturday with a visit to ULM before heading into New Orleans on Tuesday and Wednesday for the Tulane Holiday Tournament against VCU and an opponent to be determined later between host Tulane and its opponent, Saint Francis.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After a slow start spurred on by Alabama A&M's stifling defense, the Tennessee Tech women used a 10-2 run in the second quarter to take the lead, then held on to take a 78-68 victory on Saturday in the Eblen Center. Tech (4-3) inches closer to a program milestone with its 997th win, while head coach Kim Rosamond collected her 96th victory. The Golden Eagles will close out the home portion of their non-conference slate on Tuesday morning as Tech hosts Tennessee Wesleyan for an 11 a.m. game as its annual Education Day contest. Saturday's game gave the Golden Eagles an interesting test against the press as the fast and aggressive Alabama A&M squad challenged Tech for much of the contest, even cutting a 12-point Golden Eagle lead in the third quarter back down to two with 4:53 remaining in the game before Tech was able to surge back to a double-digit advantage.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With finals week and commencement out of the way, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team is back in action Saturday as it looks to make that final non-conference push before Ohio Valley Conference play starts in a month. It starts on Saturday as the Golden Eagles (3-3) entertain Alabama A&M (0-6) at the Eblen Center starting at 1 p.m. Rob Schabert and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Dylan Vazzano and Michael Cooper will broadcast the game on ESPN+ (subscription required).
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Reagan Hurst and Reghan Grimes led the Tennessee Tech women with 10 points each on Thursday morning as Middle Tennessee took an 83-45 victory in the Murphy Center. Facing off against the backdrop of a loud and spirited crowd from Murfreesboro City Schools for the Blue Raiders’ Education Day, the two teams battled back and forth through the opening quarter with the Golden Eagles (3-3) prevailing 19-18 in the first stanza.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women improved to 3-1 on the season on Thursday night, cruising to a 69-52 victory over in-state foe Trevecca Nazarene in the Eblen Center. Maaliya Owens was a force for the Golden Eagles, scoring a career-high 21 points and blocking five shots. The senior came narrowly close to recording her first double-double as she pulled down seven rebounds in the contest. Owens was 8-for-15 from the field, including 5-for-7 from 3-point range.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Following a solid outing on the road last week at Cincinnati, the Tennessee Tech women return home to take on Samford. The Bulldogs are starting off their season with an 0-2 mark with a 66-62 loss at home to Troy, then a road loss at Vanderbilt, falling 81-51 to the Commodores. Tipoff for the game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start Monday from the Hooper Eblen Center. With the men playing at the same time at Marshall on Monday night, there will be no radio broadcast from the Eblen Center. Roger Ealey and Michael Cooper will provide the call on ESPN+ (subscription required).
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team scored the same or outscored the homestanding Cincinnati Bearcats in three of the four quarters on Thursday afternoon, but it was the second quarter that proved to be the difference in the contest as the Bearcats topped the Golden Eagles 68-57. The Golden Eagles (1-1) were outscored 21-7 in the second period as Tech’s shots wouldn’t fall, shooting 3-for-16 from the floor in the quarter, including 1-for-6 from beyond-the-arc. While Cincinnati didn’t shoot too much better, the Bearcats knocked down three 3-pointers and hit four of their five shots at the free-throw line. Cincinnati had a 14-0 run during that stretch.
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- After a strong showing against Ball State on Monday in the season opener, the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will hit the road for the first time in the new campaign as they take on Cincinnati on Thursday. Tip-off from Fifth Third Arena is scheduled for 4 p.m. Central.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The game Monday night may have come down to the wire, but the Tennessee Tech women got the most important thing in the season opener against Ball State – the victory. The Golden Eagles put their first notch in the win column, topping the Cardinals – currently ranked No. 14 in the CollegeInsider.com Preseason Top 25 – with a 68-63 victory in the Hooper Eblen Center on Monday night. Ball State (0-1) certainly made it interesting though. After the Golden Eagles used a few runs in the second quarter to build a 19-point lead in the contest, the Cardinals rallied back, outscoring the Golden Eagles 39-29 in the second half and 16-9 in the fourth quarter. BSU even cut the deficit down to one point with 1:44 remaining in the contest.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With the exhibition game behind the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team, the Golden Eagles now set their sights on the regular season. Following the 66-53 victory over Stephens College on Thursday night, they’ll have a road map on what the next couple of weeks will have in store. Tech got double-digit scoring nights from Anna Walker, Jordan Brock and Maaliya Owens as Walker led the way with 15 points, Brock and Owens 14. Walker also recorded a double-double in the contest – though it won’t stand in her official stats as it was an exhibition affair – as she pulled down 12 rebounds. She shot 6-for-10 from the field for the highest rate in the lineup Thursday night, while she was also 3-for-3 at the line.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Fans will get their chance to see the Ohio Valley Conference preseason No. 1-ranked Tennessee Tech women’s basketball squad in action Thursday night as the Golden Eagles take on Stephens College in exhibition action as a part of the annual Purple Palooza event.
