Before Tech: Transferred to Tennessee Tech to join his brother Eddie Garza... In 2025 at ASU, hit .211 (3x19) with one double and five RBI... Appeared in eight games with four starts... A Buster Posey Watch List member in 2024, after a solid career at Rice, where he posted a .291 average over 130 games, with starts in 123 of those... Recorded 61 RBIs, nine homers, two triples and 25 doubles over three season... Appeared for Hyannis in the Cape Cod League this summer... In 2024 (Rice), caught a career-high 55 games (out of 59 in the season), including a career-high 53 starts, while hitting .269 with a career-high six homers and 26 RBI to match his career-best...53 starts at catcher were the most by an Owl since Justin Collins started 54 of 59 games in 2019... Led the AAC with 19 runners caught stealing and threw out 56 runners in his career...Closed the season strongly, hitting .368 over his last 23 games after hitting .120 over the previous 15 games... In 2023 (Rice), led Conference USA catchers with 22 caught stealing (47 attempts), and his .468 success rate was the best by an Owl catcher since Geoff Perrott gunned down runners at a .481 clip in 2013 (28/57)... Led the team with 42 hits and a .390 on-base percentage in conference games and was second on the team with a .340 average. In 2022 with Rice, missed 30 games due to an early-season injury, then became a fixture behind the plate over the last 18 games… Hit .385 (25x65) for the season, but .414 (24x58) after his return from injury… Started 19 of the last 22 behind the plate and vaulted into second in the conference season statistics by throwing out 16 of 38 base stealers… Led all backstops in conference games by throwing out 13…  Named to the All-Silver Glove team after hitting .375 with a double, a triple, and throwing out a pair of base runners in two games against Houston… Opened the year in a backup role and drove in a run with a sac fly in his first career plate appearance (at Texas on 2/19) and collected his first career hit in his second career start (Lamar on 2/27), but was injured on a play at the plate late in the game… Returned to action by collecting a career-high four hits in a start vs. UTSA on 4/16, the first of nine multi-hit games over 17 starts… Threw out three runners at Southern Miss (4/24) and at FIU (5/20). 

High School: Three-year starter at Rio Grande City along with his twin brother Eduardo (who played at Tennessee Tech ) for coach Roque Cortinas and led the Rattlers to an 18-7 mark (10-0 in district)  and a spot in the 5A playoffs... Two-time, 5A All-State honoree from the Texas Sportswriters Association, earning honorable mention honors as a senior and third-team honors as a freshman... Hit .443 as a senior and .430 in his career.  Threw out runners at a .795 clip in his career
