Golden Eagles fall, 3-0 in season opener in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Tennessee Tech volleyball team looked like they would take set one against Marshall in its season opener, but the Thundering Herd took it in extra points and claimed sets two and three to seize the match 3-0. Senior Caitlin Bullock led the attack for Tech with 13 kills with a .545 attack percentage.

Tech (0-1) returns to the court tomorrow when they take on Cincinnati and Wright State in the final games of the Bearcat Invitational.
"We have some things to work on," said head coach John Blair. "I think we will play better tomorrow."

New rules this season in volleyball bring the scoring in sets to 25 from 30. Along with the scoring change, games are now to be called sets. This is to align terminology and scoring with professional and Olympic volleyball.

Marshall held Tech to .248 attack percentage depsite a .306 in set three.
