The Tennessee Tech soccer team is home for a pair of Ohio Valley
Conference weekend contests.
On Oct. 17 Eastern Illinois (1-12-1, 1-4) visits Tech Soccer Field.
The Panthers have a 2-12-2 all-time record against Tech, and were
picked to finish third in the OVC pre-season poll. The start time
for Friday's game has been moved to 3:45 p.m.
On Oct. 19, Tech gets a visit from Southeast Missouri (1-7-3,
0-3-2). SEMO won the 2007 OVC regular season and tournament
championships, and was picked to repeat as champions in 2008.
"These are two very good teams," Tech coach Becky Fletcher said. "I
don't think their records are indicative of the quality of teams
that they are."
At 2-1-1 in OVC play, Tech is at the mid-point of its eight game
conference schedule, and sits in a tie for fourth place in the OVC
standings.
"One of our goals is to get to the conference tournament, and that
is sitting there in front of them," Fletcher said. "It's theirs for
the taking, if they want to go out and handle their business, then
we'll take care if it, but it's going to be a battle."
Both weekend games will be archived for viewing on OVCsports.tv on
delay. For more information on how to watch, visit OVCsports.tv.
Admission to Tech home soccer games is free.
