COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - With less than a month before the OVC Golf
Championship, junior Meagan Bradford took home an early honor.
With her third place finish at the Larry Nelson Collegiate
Invitational she has been named Co-OVC Golfer of the Week. She
shares the honor with Portia Abbott from Jacksonville State.
"She played well this weekend," said coach Brandy Stout. "There
were a lot of good golfers at Kennesaw and she just elevated her
game to stay ahead of them."
Bradford showed a strong performance at the Larry Nelson Collegiate
Invitational finishing third after rounds of 79, 75 and 74 (+12).
She shot two-over in the final round. Bradford is Tech’s top
golfer this season with a 76.8 average and almost a 2.5 stroke lead
over the next member of the Golden Eagle roster. TTU was fourth
overall as a team.
Tech took fourth of nine teams at the Larry Nelson Invitational
last week. The Golden Eagles will be back in action at the EKU
Spring Invitational in Richmond on April 11-12.
