Tennessee Tech women's basketball coach Jim Davis has added an integral piece to his staff with the addition of Brooke McKinnon-Evans as Director of Women's Basketball Operations in 2012-13 season.
"I love Tennessee Tech and am so thankful to be a part of the women's basketball program," said McKinnon-Evans. "It is a blessing to be able to work with these coaches and young ladies. We have a great group of girls and I am looking forward to the upcoming basketball season."
McKinnon-Evans, a 2011 graduate of Lee University, was a four-year starter for the Lady Flames.
During her time at Lee, McKinnon-Evans' team made four appearances in the NAIA National Tournament tournament, including a trip to the final-four her junior season.
McKinnon-Evans collected four Southern States Athletic Conference All-Conference selections, two SSAC All-Tournament selections throughout her four years, and during her freshman year, she was named the SSAC Freshman of the Year. In her sophomore campaign, McKinnon was an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American before earning third team All-American her junior season, and second team All-American her senior season. McKinnon became the second all-time leading scorer in Lee University history.
McKinnon-Evans, who in her second year at Tech, is married to former Golden Eagle football player Jake Evans, class of 2007. Married in December of 2011, the couple has been living in Cookeville. McKinnon-Evans will finish her Master's of Curriculum and Instruction in December of 2013 and will be a proud Tech alumni.
