OVC women’s basketball final two rounds to be aired on ESPN3
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- The Ohio Valley Conference announced Wednesday that the Conference's 2013 Women's Basketball Championship semifinals and final will be aired on ESPN3 and select stations in OVC markets, including Cookeville.
Among the select stations are WJXS in Jacksonville, Ala., WCTE in Cookeville, and WEIU in Charleston, Ill.
Coach Jim Davis' Golden Eagles are in the mix of teams battling for the top seeds in the eight-team tournament, which begins Wednesday, March 6 with first-round games. Last year, the Golden Eagles advanced to the championship game before losing in a close contest to UT Martin.
ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a 24/7 destination that delivers thousands of global sports events annually and accessible online via WatchESPN.com. It is available to approximately 70 million homes at no cost to fans who receive a high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated provider. The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers connected to on-campus educational networks and on-base military networks. Bob Belvin and Jim Tirey will be calling the women's basketball semifinals and final for the third straight year.
The semifinals will take place on March 8 while the final will be held on March 9 at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn. The two semifinals tip at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. CT while the final begins at 1:30 p.m. CT.
