COOKEVILLE, Tenn. ---Fresh off their win Monday at Louisiana Monroe, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles will look to make it a perfect Louisiana trip as they take on the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters Wednesday at 2 p.m.
This will be the fourth meeting between the Golden Eagles and Lady Techsters, with La. Tech winning all three of the previous meetings. In their last meeting, Louisiana Tech defeated TTU 101-56 back in the 1995-96 season.
The game between TTU and La. Tech will also feature two of the winningest women's basketball teams in NCAA history. The Lady Techsters are second all-time in the NCAA with 1,006 wins, while the Golden Eagles are currently eighth all-time in wins with 841.
The Golden Eagles are currently 1-1 on their present road trip, which includes a 68-64 win over Louisiana Monroe.
TTU is led by senior Tacarra Hayes who has tallied a team-high 200 points on the season, including a 29-point performance against the Warhawks. Junior Jala Harris made her TTU debut against the Warhawks scoring 12 points while sophomore Molly Heady added nine points and nine rebounds.
La. Tech is currently 6-7 on the season, including four wins in its last five games. The Techsters have three players averaging at least 10 points per game including Jasmine Bendolph, who is averaging 12.1 points per game. Shantale Bramble-Donaldson is averaging 10.5 points per game and a team-leading 7.2 rebounds per game.
