Tech to host 13 games at Tech Combat Classic, Belmont games postponed

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After compiling a 4-1 record at the
Frost Classic, the Tennessee Tech softball team will look to keep
its fortunes going this week as it hosts the three-day Tech Combat
Classic beginning Friday.
Tech finishes the week as it hosts the its first home games of
the season at the Tech Combat Classic. The 13-game tournament will
feature six teams including Tech, Middle Tennessee, NC State,
Belmont, Louisville and Samford, though TTU will not face
Tech begins the Combat Classic Friday as it hosts Middle
Tennessee and NC State, with game times set for 3 and 5 p.m. The
Golden Eagles are a combined 18-21 against the Blue Raiders and the
Wolfpack. MTSU has put together a 4-7 record and is 3-2 in its last
five games. NC State has put together a 7-7 record but has lost its
last three games.
The Golden Eagles wrap up their week on day two of the Tech
Combat Classic as they host Belmont and Louisville Saturday with
game times set at 12 and 3 p.m. Against Belmont, Tech has built a
24-2 record including a pair of shutout victories last season. The
Bruins are currently 4-10 on the season and have lost their last
four games. Louisville leads the all-time series against Tech 5-1.
The Cardinals are 9-6 on the season, and have won four of their
last five games.
Day one of the Tech Combat Classic will feature four listed
Middle Tennessee vs. Louisville at 10 a.m.
Louisville vs. NC State at 1 p.m.
Middle Tennessee at Tennessee Tech at 3
N.C. State at Tennessee Tech at 5 p.m.
Day two of the Tech Combat Classic will feature five games
with times listed below:
Belmont vs. Samford at 10
Belmont at Tennessee Tech at 12:30 p.m.
Louisville at Tennessee Tech at 3 p.m.
Middle Tennessee vs. Samford at 5 p.m.
N.C. State vs. Middle Tennessee at 7 p.m.
Day three of the Tech Combat Classic will feature four game
with times listed below
N.C. State vs. Belmont at 10
Samford vs. N.C. State at 12 p.m.
Louisville vs. Belmont at 2 p.m.
Samford vs. Louisville at 4 p.m.
Admission to all tournament games, as well as all Tech home
games, is free of charge.
Tech's scheduled doubleheader against Belmont for Wednesday
has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a latter date.
