Men's cross country at 12th in latest USTFCCCA South Region rankings

NEW ORLEANS – The Tennessee Tech men's cross country team now stands at No. 12 in week 4 of the USTFCCCA South Region rankings, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday.

Over the weekend, Tech placed seventh at the Sam Bell Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana, with 152 points. Sophomore Gilbert Boit placed first in the 98-man field, extending his undefeated streak this season to three consecutive meets. Brannon Cheplak (21st), Sammy Kipkirui (32nd), Benard Sigei (56th) and Hannes Vohn (76th) also scored points for the Golden Eagles.

The Tech men's next competition will be Saturday, Oct. 14 at adidas® Pre-Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky.

The USTFCCCA regional cross country rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.
