NEW ORLEANS – With one meet under its belt, the Tennessee Tech men's cross country team remains at 11th in the USTFCCCA South Region Week 1 rankings, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday.

The USTFCCCA regional cross country rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.

Tech opened its season at its home Golden Eagle Invitational on Sept. 2, where it finished second in the team standings above Mississippi State, Western Kentucky, Southern Illinois and Tennessee State. Sophomore Gilbert Boit repeated as the meet's individual champion, and four of Tech's six runners finished within the top 10 spots.
