Jarrad has provided consistent efforts and constant improvement
throughout this four years on the roster...a team leader, he was
also elected president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
for his senior season...wrapped up his senior season having
competed in every Golden Eagle meet during the past four
years...named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll to recognize
his work in the classroom.
AT TECH - (In 2009): One of six runners who
competed in every meet in 2009, Jarrad showed consistent
improvement every week of the season...moved from seventh on the
team to third by the end of the year...his season-best time was
28:35.46 at the Evansville Invitational where he finished fourth on
the team...was third on the squad at the OVC Championship with a
time of 28:08.03.
(In 2008): Jarrad competed in all six meets the Golden
Eagles participated in, and had strong showings in just about each
event...best time was clocked in at Evansville where he finished
with a time of 26:42.53, which stands as his career best, and also
stands as the 17th best finish in Tech history...had a strong
finish at the OVC Championships where he placed second on the
squad...also finished with fourth-place showings at the Tennessee
Tech Invitational, Furman and Evansville.
(In 2007): Jarrad had strong showings in the
Furman and the NCAA Division I South Region Cross Country
Championships, where he placed fourth among his teammates in each
meet. He also placed strong in the Chattanooga Invitational where
he came in fifth for the Golden Eagle squad.
(In 2006): Jarrad was one of the most improved
runners on the roster in his rookie season, climbing to fourth
toward the end of the schedule...ran in every meet...opened the
year fifth on the team at Sewanee and Austin Peay, and placed sixth
among his teammates at Vanderbilt...jumped to fourth on the squad
for the TTU Invitational and Evansville Invitational...best time
clocked in at 27:50.44 at Evansville to finish 44th overall.
HIGH SCHOOL: Jarrad comes to the Golden Eagles
from South Doyle High School with inside knowledge of the TTU
program, having been a standout distance runner under the direction
of his prep coach, Donnie Madgett, a former Golden Eagle
runner..Jarrad lettered four times in cross country and two times
in track and field, and also earned two letters on the basketball
and soccer teams...Jarrad holds his school record for 3,200 meters
in track and placed third in the region while earning all-KIL
honors.
