Daniel is a promising runner who spent his first season on the roster as a redshirt and is slated to begin his career in 2009...a well-accomplished athlete in high school...also a solid performer in the classroom...named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in recognition of his achievements in the classroom.

AT TECH - (In 2009): After waiting a year, Daniel made his Golden Eagle debut in the 2009 season and competed in four races...opened the year by placing sixth on the team at the Sewanee Invitational in 29:54.13...showed improved times in every single meet...career-best time of 28:50.67 came on the OVC Championship.

(In 2008): Daniel redshirted his freshman season because of a stress fracture.

HIGH SCHOOL: Daniel is a June graduate of Freedom High School where he received a total of 10 letters in three sports. In addition to his four letters in cross country, he also claimed three in track & field and three in swimming.

PERSONAL: Daniel Francis is the son of Noel and Beth Francis of Morganton, N.C...birthday is July 17, 1990...plans to major in electrical engineering.
