William was a mainstay in the Tech lineup in his first three
years and continues to show the kind of improvement that lends
promise to his career during in his upcoming final season...came to
Tech from Signal Mountain, Tenn., where he was a successful runner
for his high school cross country and track teams...a five time
selection to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in recognition of
his outstanding efforts in the classroom.
AT TECH - (In 2009): Will ran in five meets for the
Golden Eagles in his final season... season-best time of 30:27.79
came at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
(In 2008): William ran in three meets during his junior
year...best time was clocked in at Evansville, where he finished
with a 29:16.14 performance.
(In 2007): Will battled through nagging injuries
during his second season, and was only able to run in five events
and finish four...missed all of the final two events...season-best
time was 30:35 at Furman.
(In 2006): William raced in all six meets as a
freshman, finishing in the team's top five at the Vanderbilt
Invitational, and placing sixth on the squad in every other
event...posted his career-best mark of 28:32 at the Evansville
Invitational, finishing 62nd in the field.
HIGH SCHOOL: A letterman all four years for both
the cross country and the track teams at Red Bank High
School...named a "Best of Preps" qualifier...also named all-region
as a senior during the 2006 cross country season...led his team to
victory in the sub-sectional and regional championships...served as
captain of the Lions.
PERSONAL: William is the son of Hugh and
Francesca Enicks...born May 7, 1988...full name is William Hugh
Enicks V...majoring in engineering and plans on a military career.
