Harris and Crawford take third-flight of doubles at UTC Fall Classic
CHATANOOGA, TENN.-- Doubles pair Lloyd Harris and James Crawford lead the Tennessee Tech tennis team in earning the third-flight doubles championship this weekend at the UTC Fall Classic.
The Tech doubles pair has been playing off and on together since their freshman debut in 2007 and continue to have success in their virtues. Crawford and Harris kicked off the tournament Friday morning with a 8-4 victory over top-seeded team from EKU, Alex Das and Jan Dobrowski. The two went on to defeat a pair from UTC, 8-5 before capturing a win over second-seeded team from Samford, 8-4. These three consecutive wins earned Tech the third-flight championship title.
Crawford also competed in the third-flight of singles where he picked up some wins as well. After falling 3-6, 3-6 to one-seed Carl Arbalos from Samford, Crawford bounced back the next round with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Lee University. Crawford earned one more victory (2-0) before falling in the consolation's final round against JSU.
Harris fell twice in the second-flight of singles after a first round loss to second-seed from EKU.

In a close first-round battle against top-seeded team from UNCG, Tech couldn't close it out in the end, with an 8-9 (3) loss. Tech fell again to ETSU the following round.
