Heavyweights will battle when Morehead State visits Saturday night

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle men's basketball team put together a winning streak of three games, its longest of the season, with their win over the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky on Thursday night. Looking to keep the streak alive, the team will take on the nation's leading rebounder in Kenneth Faried as he and the Morehead State Eagles come to Cookeville for a double-header on Saturday.

Tip time for the men's game, which is game two of the evening's double header, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

With matching OVC records of 8-4, both teams are currently tied in third place in OVC standings. Additionally, one team's three-game win streak will be snapped on Saturday, as MSU is coming to Cookeville riding recent wins over Ball State and OVC opponents Tennessee State and Austin Peay. They have amassed an overall record of 16-8 to the Golden Eagles' 12-9.

Senior Alfred Jones notched a career high in rebounds against EKU, pulling down 14 on the game – and Tech will look to him for a repeat performance against Faried in the paint. The senior out of Newark, N.J. averages 14.3 rebounds per game and holds the no. 1 spot in the nation by 1.4 rpg.

This meeting between the two Eagle teams will mark the 133 meeting between the two teams. After taking a 76-64 win on their home court earlier this season, Morehead holds the edge on the lifetime series with 71 wins to Tech's 61. TTU will be looking for their first win in seven meetings against the Eagles.

Tech will also host Overton County Night and Scout Night on Saturday. Residents of Overton County will be able to purchase tickets to the games for just $1, while any fans wearing their Boy or Girl Scout uniforms will be admitted for free.

Tickets are available by calling the TTU Ticket Office at (931) 372-3940 or online at TTUsports.com.

Fans who can't make it to the Hoop for Saturday's game can listen to Roger Ealey call the action on the Golden Eagle Sports Network or on free Teamline at 1-800-846-4700 (Tech code 0654).
