The Sports Network Top 25 poll lists Golden Eagles among vote-getters
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle football team is included among teams mentioned in a second FCS preseason poll, earning votes in The Sports Network Top 25 poll announced Tuesday.
Tech and seven Golden Eagle FCS opponents in 2013 are included in the poll or listed among teams receiving votes in the poll, which is conducted among a nationwide panel of voters.
Eastern Illinois is the only Ohio Valley Conference team included in the poll, checking in at No. 21. OVC teams receiving votes include Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee State, UT Martin, Jacksonville State and Murray State, while non-conference foe Indiana State is also listed.
The Golden Eagles have one more scrimmage slated during fall camp, a 1 p.m. workout in Tucker Stadium this Saturday, Aug. 17, as the featured attraction during the annual Gathering of Eagles picnic. Several other activities are planned for Saturday, including a Women's Clinic, Kid's Zone, surplus sale and picnic.
Following the scrimmage, the players will be available on the sidelines to sign autographs.
