Following a redshirt season in 2007 and two years as a wide receiver, Corey made the move back to the defensive side of scrimmage in the spring...listed second on the depth chart at free safety...his first season on the Golden Eagle roster had him at defensive back during his redshirt season, so he returns to a familiar role...owns a tremendous work ethic...good combination of speed and strength...adds depth to the secondary...should exhibit steady improvement as he gains experience...only thing keeping him from more playing time has been injuries...a real student of the game, he shows a strong knowledge of his position.

(In 2007): Sat out the entire 2007 season as a medical redshirt after an ankle injury and surgery.

HIGH SCHOOL: Corey was a standout two-way player at Sevier County High School, seeing time at quarterback and defensive back...a versatile player, he also lined up at wide receiver and kick returner on his way to earning Region 1-5A Offensive Player of the Year in his final two seasons...was also a two-time first-team all-region pick as a defensive back...a Tennessee-Kentucky All-Star game selection...during his prep career, he scored 80 points and returned three punts for touchdowns.
