COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee Tech baseball team resumes Ohio Valley Conference play this weekend as it hosts a three-game series against SIU Edwardsville.
Game one of the series is set for Friday at 6 p.m., with game two slated for Saturday at 2 p.m. and game three set for Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission is free to all of Tech's regular season home games.
This will be the first encounter between the Golden Eagles and Cougars since SIUE joined the OVC three seasons ago.
TTU (14-18, 5-4 OVC) enters the weekend on the heels of a 13-1 blowout of Alabama A&M. Nine different Golden Eagles recorded at least one hit against the Bulldogs, including James Abraham, Chad Hayes and Jordan Hopkins who each posted a game-high three hits.
On the season, three Golden Eagles have posted in at least 21 RBI, including Zach Stephens, Dylan Bosheers and Evan Frazier. Stephens leads the team with 38 runs batted in, while Bosheers has drive in 24, with Frazier following close behind with 21.
Tech is currently sitting in a tie with Morehead State for fourth place in the OVC standings with identical 5-4 marks in league play.
SIUE (15-18, 3-6 OVC) is 1-1 in its last two non-conference games, which includes a 10-inning, 10-9 win over Springfield Benedictine, and a 5-1 loss to St. Louis.
Joel Greatting leads the Cougar offense with 22 RBI, while Zach Hawkins has notched three home runs and 21 RBI.
With a 3-6 OVC record, SIUE is tied with Murray State and UT Martin for seventh place in the OVC standings.
