Tech hosts weekend series against OVC rival Murray State
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- After a five-game road trip, the Tennessee Tech baseball team returns home this weekend for a three-game series against Ohio Valley Conference rival Murray State.
Game one of the series is set for Friday at 6 p.m., with game two following on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and game three following on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Golden Eagles currently sit at 9-15 on the season, including a mark of 1-2 in OVC play. Tech finished 1-2 in its last OVC series against UT Martin, which included an 11-1 victory behind eight solid innings from TTU starter Matthew Shepherd.
In their last five games, four Golden Eagles have posted at least a .375 batting average, including Dylan Bosheers who led the team in runs batted in during that stretch. Ben Burgess and Zach Stephens drove in three runs apiece as well.
Murray State enters the weekend with a 14-12 record and a 1-2 record in the OVC. In their last game, the Racers took a 7-2 win against Southern Illinois. MSU is also 1-2 in conference play as it dropped two-of-three to Morehead State.
Travis Isaak has provided the power for Murray State this season having tallied a team-leading three home runs and 19 RBI. His 13 doubles are also a team-high.
