COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee Tech baseball team opens up a seven-game homestand Friday, beginning with a three-game series against the Illinois State Redbirds.
The opening pitch is set for 3 p.m. Friday, with the first pitches set for 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Tech leads the all-time series against ISU with a record of 2-1, with their last meeting coming back in the 2008 season.
Through four games this season, junior Austin Wulf has had the hot bat as he has posted a .533 batting average, including eight hits and one home run. Sophomore Zach Stephens has also made a quick impact as he has notched one home run and three RBI. Senior Chad Hayes has also done well for himself at the plate, driving in four runs, while maintaining a .313 batting average.
Illinois State is currently 1-3 this season with all of its games coming against Austin Peay. APSU dealt ISU three straight losses before the Redbirds dealt the Governors a 10-1 loss in the final game of their four-game series.
Through four games Kyle Stanton has posted a .636 batting average, which includes seven hits in 11 at-bats. Eric Aguilera has driven in a team-high four RBI, while Zac Johnson and Matt Mirabal have scored a team-high three runs.
