White County Night Wednesday the first of four county nights in Eblen Center

White County Night is at doubleheader on Wednesday

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Basketball fans in neighboring White, Jackson and Overton Counties, along with the hometown folks in Putnam County, are invited to take advantage of special opportunities to watch Tennessee Tech basketball at a discounted price with "appreciation" nights planned for fans from all four counties.

The first is set for Wednesday night (Dec. 1) when Tech hosts White County Night at the doubleheader against SIU Edwardsville and Middle Tennessee.

Tickets for the four games will be available for just one dollar each for residents of those counties on their selected nights.

This season marks the seventh consecutive year that the Tech Athletics Department is offering special discount nights to residents of those counties. The events have been successful in the past six years, and TTU officials are hoping area fans will continue to take advantage of these offers.

"We have a lot of great fans from throughout the Upper Cumberland, and this is our way of saying 'thank you' to all of the fans in those counties for their support of Tech basketball," said Mark Wilson, TTU Director of Athletics.

For Wednesday night's White County Night, the evening will feature a doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m., with the men’s team hosting future OVC foe SIU-Edwardsville, followed by the women’s squad facing arch-rival Middle Tennessee at 8 p.m.

Residents of Jackson County are invited to take advantage of the one dollar offer on Thursday, Jan. 13, when Tech hosts an OVC doubleheader against UT Martin beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Putnam County residents will receive the one dollar offer for the games on Saturday, Jan. 15, when Tech hosts Murray State in an OVC doubleheader. The women’s tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.

The fourth special night is on Saturday, Feb. 5, when Tech hosts Morehead State in an OVC doubleheader. That will be Overton County Night as the Golden Eagles host the MSU Eagles, with the women’s contest tipping off at 5:30 p.m.

For all four events, residents of each county may take advantage of the offer by purchasing tickets at the Athletics Ticket office in the Eblen Center.

Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the game. For additional information on the county nights, call the Tech Athletics Ticket Office at (931) 372-3940.
