COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Several fans won prizes and free tickets to Tennessee Tech's football season opener when the Purple Pride Caravan made its final stop of 2009 with a visit to the Cookeville Save-A-Lot store.
With kickoff just two days off, Golden Eagle head coach Watson
Brown took time out of his team's preparations to visit with fans
who came by to meet the coaches and players, and take part in the
tailgate-type event.
Also on hand were several members of th Golden Eagle men's
basketball team, along with assistant coaches Tommy Deffebaugh and
Russ willemsen, plus new women's head coach Sytia Messer.
Bruce Hunter won the drawing for the Golden Eagle basketball, while
Kayla HArdin won the drawing for the autographed football jersey.

Brown, was won by Angela Brown.
Tech hosts Pikeville Thursday at 7 p.m. in Tucker Stadium. Season
tickets are on sale at the Athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center,
or by calling (931) 372-3940. Thursday's game features several
special events, including Communiversity Night, First Tennessee
Bank Poster Night, and Military and Public Safety Appreciation
Night.
