Dan Bailey is in his first year as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant coach at Tennessee Tech working with Chip Pugh. He will bring an expertise in speed training as well as working with track and field and cross country runners to the staff.

Bailey graduated in 2007 from Ohio University, where he was a sprinter on the Bobcats' track and field team and majored in physical educuation. During his time as a collegiate athlete at Ohio, he was a three-time Academic All-MAC selection for both indoor and outdoor track and was named the MAC Male Track Athlete of the Week in 2006.

Like assistant strength coach Rich Froning, Bailey is a CrossFit athlete who placed in the top 10 internationally at the 2011 CrossFit Games in August, earning sixth place overall. Bailey is a two-year veteran of CrossFit competition.

After college, Bailey worked as a middle school physical education teacher and served as assistant track and field coach at Fresno Pacific University. He is CSCS, CrossFit Level I Certified as well as USATF Level I Certified.

A native of Uniontown, Ohio, Bailey will be pursuing a Master of Arts in Exercise Science, Physical Education and Wellness at Tennessee Tech.
