I've heard that the key to success as a student-athlete is a balanced schedule and time-management.I've found that balancing work and play is always a little one-sided, yet I still struggle to pull myself away from Twitter! In my blog, you might find anything from serious chalk-talk and strategy, to fun pregame rituals and laughable moments off the court. I'll be sure to give the play-by-play on what it will take to ace my freshman year, as well as some snapshots of the season along the way! For more information, feel free to Follow me (@Mac_maci) on Twitter, as I make my debut on the TTU Volleyball team! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me. |

Hey everyone,
With only 8 of the 15 players returning from the previous season, the TTU volleyball program is certainly young. As the "Veebs" enter into the 2011 season, there are no seniors and 7 incoming freshman. Coming out of preseason, it is evident that there is room for improvement, which will certainly show as the season progresses. Though we may be young, the potential of each player is limitless. With each day's practice, we consistently get better. The fact that nearly the same group of girls will be together for two years, only heightens my confidence in the Tech volleyball program's continuous growth.
The conference season begins this week, and I know my fellow Veebs share a mutual feeling of excitement! Sure, preseason is important for experimenting with the lineup and advancing as a team, but conference play is the real deal. These games count, and we're playing for all the marbles. The goal this season is to host and win the OVC tournament. But we can't win it overnight. As with any young team, we need to walk before we can run. We plan on taking the title point by point, game by game, and match by match. Be sure to catch our home opener against UT Martin at 7 pm on Friday in the HOOP! Hope to see you all there!"
